Plague

A great mortality has spread across the land.

This cruel death has swept through on all sides as if following the course of the sun. Indiscriminately afflicting noble and commoner alike, more than half of the men women and children have died from the terrible sickness.

In the rural areas, villages have no labor to tend to the land and grow crops. Neglected fields of rotting wheat and barley lie in decay, while others are left fallow, choking with weeds and brambles.

Towns are left abandoned and deserted as servants, craftsmen and workmen flee its advance.

Despite the best efforts of the church to quench news spreading throughout the shires causing panic, rumors have spread. Hearsay, describes a "Devils Playground" where the foul plague vapors have corrupted and twisted plant and animal life alike.

Some believe it's just the hallucinations of dying victims, drifting in from neighboring towns. As people grow desperate, populist cults have arisen. Chapter members scourge themselves publicly, with nails and flails believing it the end of times and Gods punishment for sin.

And people listen, hope and pray.

As autumn wanes those  who survive this  nightmare face a new threat.

Starvation

The abandoned highway leads to a deserted town, blighted by the plague during the peak of  summer.

Make your way in with your horse, Artex and search the town for enough grain sacks to see you both through the coming winter.
