Large corporations began to form, in attempts to harvest the vast resources and raw materials available and necessary for continued expansion and sustainability.

Deep space exploration in huge self-sustaining mining ships for rare minerals became extremely profitable for these companies as trade and commerce grew between colonies and an intricate economy started to form.

The Orion Starbase serves as a permanent outpost in the furthest reaches of human explored of space. It serves as a headquarters for a number of corporations and has a large fleet of commercial vessels including carriers and tankers.
